15th Infantry Battle Patrol
« on: April 13, 2017, 10:25:59 am »
During WW II (and later, into Korea) many divisions noted the training and successes of the Ranger Battalions. Not wanting to lose the best personnel in their divisions, many of them created divisional Ranger type units, but called them "Battle Patrols" or "Raiders". The units ranged in size from a platoon to a company.

The 3rd ID was very keen on the idea, and all three inf regts and the div recon company had Battle Patrols. Here is the 15th. The dragon, from their DI, has the letters "BP" in its mouth. It looks better in real life; lot of detail to the scales on the body.
