U.S. Army / Re: Unidentified Hallmark
« on: August 23, 2017, 05:10:12 pm »
Thank you for correcting my misidentification.

I was going to ask for a reference that pointed me to the source as I wanted to make a note of it in my files but I found it when I did a Google search.

For anyone else that is interested here is a web link that shows an insignia card identifying this hallmark. Scroll down to post #4

Many thanks.

Log into the ASMIC home page as normal.

http://www.asmic.org/

Once you log in, the member's home page is opened. Right below the ASMIC banner and page tab selections you should see welcome to ASMIC with your name and your membership expiration date.

Hope this is helpful.

I believe the hallmark was used by the J. O'Brian Badge Company which was located in Madison, NJ.

If you get a chance I would be interested in seeing a photo of the DI front and back.

Thanks for the mention of Andrew, Dave. However, none of the issues listed are available from him.

I would like to purchase the following older issues of the trading post. I am looking for clean copies with no musty smell, coffee/water stains and no writing.

Please let me know if you have any for sale and what you are asking for them.

Thank you,

Brent

General Discussion / Searching for a copy of the Pappas catalog.
« on: July 05, 2016, 05:02:46 pm »
Hello All,

I am searching for a copy of "Catalog of Distinctive Insignia of the US Army" by George S. Pappas. I also would appreciate any leads on where a copy may be found if known.

I did an online search and found one in the New York library. Unfortunately I am in PA, so unless I make a trip to New York I doubt I will be able to see that one. There was a copy listed in a military library but it wasn't available. So the search continues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Brent
