Help with DUI Identification
« on: December 08, 2015, 11:01:02 am »
Hello:

I was hoping someone could identify this unit insignia.  The decal is on the side of a U.S. M1 helmet liner that dates to the WW2  1950s period.  The liner also bears the 91st Infantry Division insignia on the opposite side. Based on the colors of gold and red, Im assuming it is associated with the field artillery, but have been unable to nail down the unit.

Decals are tough no doubt!  The 33rd FA has been mentioned on the USMF-has a similar lion.

Also, the 7th Coast Artillery Regiment, has a very similar lion and could be, I said could be, a possibility.  It may take someone here that knows it, or talking to a artillery museum.  So, let me show these.

regards,
pat
